WELCOME TO THE AKATASPHERE

There is always magic, and there is always a way

Who is Sami Ardens?

Sami Ardens, depending on who you ask, is either a space bird or a world-hopping mage with a very fancy grimoire. She is 30 by some measure and is probably hiding out in a castle on a space island somewhere.

Silliness aside, her primary story focuses include Fantasy and Sci-Fi hybrids (or Speculative Fiction), all with elements of world-hopping, magic everywhere, people working through their issues through magical means or otherwise, bird people, and hopepunk. Hopepunk in particular is important. Consider it a discussion of "celebrating the potential of people as they continue going forward, no matter how grim things seem."

What is the Akatasphere?

The Akatasphere is the universe that the stories found here are set in. It's one where "feelings matter" and magic is often based off emotions. Its overall tech level ranges from "modern fantasy" to "sci-fi but has recently (re)discovered magic." Examples include Medleya, a melting pot for offworld immigrants, and Celea, the aforementioned sci-fi world that found its magic again. There is always a way to get from world to world, most likely by asking someone with the ability to magically travel between them.

The progenitor entities of the Akatasphere are the Starsingers, birdlike beings with alternate humanoid forms. They have the ability to create worlds with them at the core, a process described as "singing the world into existence." Some choose to roam the universe as observers instead of becoming the core of a world.

Wait, who is Syl Ardens?

There's a small chance you may have found a cute red bird with a similar name to mine. If you did: yes, she is also me. She's just the persona used for VTuber business alongside writing.

If you spot the character Syl in my writing: no, that is not me. I do not do the self insert thing (yet?).
